Everyone who pays their own electric bill, including renters and co-op/condo owners, can participate in a community solar project. You can even subscribe to community solar if you live in an apartment or your home is in a shady area that isn’t suited to solar panels.
Allocation is determined by your annual historical usage and that as a percentage of our projects generation.
No! It used to be that renewable energy developers required a soft credit check to approve your subscription application - but thankfully new policy means that no credit check is required!
Sign up is simple and straight forward. Click on the subscribe button anywhere on our site, which will bring you to a contact form to fill out. This form includes your basic contact information and your utility acount information, so that we can notify your utility provider that you are requesting a portion of renewable energy credits. Once you submit the form, a member of our team will contact you with your subscription contract. Once signed up, you can cancel at any time without notice or fee!
When you subscribe to one of our community solar projects, you'll get electric bill credits/savings from all of the power produced by the share of solar panels you have been allocated. We do not replace your utility - we simply work with them to ensure that you receive credit on your current bill for the electricity we generate.
Your renewable energy savings credits will appear automatically on your monthly utility bill. Check out our breakdown of your utility bill blog post to better understand your bill.
